Training Sessions for NACS Show Attendees

The following training sessions are available to NACS Show attendees and are designed for you to roll up your sleeves and dig into the topics. Workshops are interactive and fun with exercises and group activities.

The following sessions are free; however registration to the NACS Show is separate and required. Advanced registration for the classes is strongly recommended and walk-ins may be accommodated if space is available. In past years, classes have been full before the event begins and a waitlist is maintained. You must arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class or your seat will be forfeited. In September, instructions and room assignments will be sent to participants.

Independent Operator Training Sessions

These sessions are designed for and only open to individuals from companies with 5 or fewer stores. Class size is limited to 35 participants. Workbooks and reference materials will be supplied complimentary to registrants. All sessions will be facilitated by Mark Wells, President of LJT Management Services, Inc.

Coaching Employees to Suggestively Sell

Your ultimate goal is to increase your bottom line. One way to do that is to improve sales by coaching sales associates to become more sales oriented. This interactive session will cover upgrades, related sales, up-selling and basic marketing of your store specials as well as loyalty cards. Lean Retailing – Doing More with Less

In this session, you’ll learn techniques to make the most out of the space you have in your store, everything from inventory turns, shelf space analysis, velocity reports, product placement, product variety and shrinkage measurements to gain additional profits through knowledge of your day-to-day operation. This session is new for 2012!

Preventing and Handling Customer Complaints

The goal of this workshop is to help you understand the ultimate business costs due to customer complaints and the ten things you need to know to prevent them. Financial Management

The financial well-being of your business is being threatened by the ever-increasing costs to operate your stores. It is critical in today’s environment to have accurate records and understand how and where the numbers are being generated. Otherwise, you may experience difficulty in fulfilling your financial obligations. Participants are asked to bring 3 months of P&L statements for this workshop and samples will be supplied for analysis.
